About me
John Theut has been in the EMS and fire services profession for 30 years. He retired from the Ferndale Fire Department as a Shift Captain and EMS Coordinator. Currently, he is the EMS System Manager at the Oakland County Medica Control Authority (OCMCA). He is also the Program Director for the OCMCA CE Sponsorship which provided over 1,200 CE sessions and over 10,000 CEs awarded. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Technology Studies from Eastern Michigan University with an emphasis on Homeland Security. He has successfully completed the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy. John is a member of the Michigan Society of EMS Instructor Coordinators. He was a presenter at the 2020, 2023 and 2024 IC conferences. His presentations were regarding Probationary Employee Programs and Providing Corrective Feedback. John holds higher education and continual improvement of himself as a core value that will always be shared with others as often as possible. Helping others grow in the Emergency Responder profession is a passion.
