By utilizing the metaphor of the sloppy sandwich maker, participants will have a connection to the concept of poor performance by students and EMS Education program staff. This concept invokes a desire in the participant to exceed the expectations of their students. Additionally, the participant can develop and implement expectations of their students in a meaningful way. These expectations prepare our students for successful careers in the EMS systems that we serve.

At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:
  • Identify key characteristics of quality instruction
  • Recognize personal bias toward students
  • Identify habits that promote proper preparation for the classroom setting
  • Implement a culture of professionalism and pride in the classroom.
